The Beginning

Testing

On November 28, 2018, we undertook our first visit to assess raw cashew nut (RCN) trading opportunities in Nsawkaw, Badu, and Seikwa in the Tain District of the Bono Region of Ghana. On March 19 the following year, we arrived in Nsawkaw to commence a two-year commercial pilot in RCN trading leading to official incorporation on May 21, 2021.

The most significant milestone during this period was the establishment of our ThirdWell Akuafo Network (TAN)

Our story begins with the courage to leave the convenience of our lives and families in the capital city to build a new business in a place we had only visited once.

The ThirdWell story is forged in courage, creativity and resilience. Our greatest expectation is the positive impact our business will have on the livelihoods of our farmers and their households.

What We Do

1

Our core business is building and managing wealth creating relationships with farmers and communities. We provide guaranteed markets  for produce through our trading activities and actively promote the development of sustainable livelihoods for farming households through our ThirdWell Initiatives. Literally, the FARMER is our Business!

Our relationship with farmers is managed through our ThirdWell Akuafo Network (TAN). TAN is present in over 35 communities in the Tain, Kintampo, Savelugu-Nanton and Yendi districts in the Bono, Bono East, Northern and North East regions of Ghana. ThirdWell Akuafo Network is managed on the community level by our ThirdWell Purchasing Agents.

We currently have a trading capacity of up to 15,000 Metric Tons of Raw Cashew Nuts, Soya Beans and Shea Nuts per annum.

Our brand promise of …prospering together! is premised on the belief that the prosperity and well-being of farmers is fundamental to the sustainability of our business in the longterm.

Where We Are Going

960x0

Our core medium term strategy is to grow our farmer base to a minimum of 10,000 farmers (TAN 10,000 Project) and reach over over 150 communities along the ThirdWell Trading Corridor stretching from Bono region, through Upper West and Bono East  regions to Northern and North East regions. This expansion is expected to increase our trading capacity to a minimum of 50,000MT per annum.

Our commodity trading business is underpinned by a desire and strategic objective to promote sustainable livelihood development for farming households and to this end we will commence the full implementation of our ThirdWell S.A.F.E. strategy by the end of 2025.
